Cherry Picking WOD's

If you find yourself reading the WOD on Facebook or on urabnwarfit.com, and allowing that to dictate whether you show up or not, then you're "Cherry Picking".
Now, if you see that WOD, and it turns your gut, yet you still show, hats off to ya!
To a newbie, my reccomendation is to not view the WOD's ahead until you've fully created the habit of coming consitantly.
So, ask yourself  "What is CrossFit?" Or "Why did I sign on to train CrossFit in the first place?"
CrossFit is all about training outside of our little comfort zones. It's not to make us great at anything, but rather good at everything. So, if you're finding yourself chosing to skip a WOD because there's a skill, task, movement, weather element, don't have proper running shows that day, or anything for that matter, that you don't want to do, then you really need to re-evaluate your goals.
Don't get me wrong, when you look at the white board, you should get that burn in your gut. You should have atleast, for a momment, if not longer, have that thought of "this Shit SUCKS!" I know that feeling, as I feel it each and every day. I then remind myself of that goal.
That's the point of CrossFit. Training our weaknesses to become more well rounded and balanced in fitness. CrossFit, by definition, is broad, general, and all inclusive.
With greater challenges, we find greater reward.
So, here's the question...

  1. The days you don't want to go, are the day you need to go most. For those are the days you'll feel even better about yourself and most likely have the best workout.
